The Bakehouse

I worked my little tail off last year and by the end of the summer, I was approaching burn-out, so when Joy The Baker announced a fall workshop at The Bakehouse in New Orleans, I jumped at the chance to get out of town, FINALLY meet Joy in person, and take one of her classes. I got lucky because I did a weekend long workshop that included branding and social media, but honestly I would have gone even if it had been 3 days of making beignets and decorating cakes.

It was the first time I had treated myself to something like this - something beyond a weekend trip to NYC or Chicago. It did so much for my exhausted spirit. It took me out of my environment, taught me things I would have never learned (icing a cake, food styling, drinking out of a chambong!), and it gave me a whole new group of people to become friends with. I looooooved the people in my class. A bunch of us are friends now, and are constantly in each other’s DMs.

So why am I telling you all of this? Because Joy is taking her show on the road this summer! If you need a little break from your life, I highly recommend high-tailing it to one of these cities.

July 13 | Pawhuska, OK

July 20 | Austin, TX

August 10 | San Francisco, CA

August 20 | Portland, OR

August 24 | Seattle, WA

August 25 | Seattle, WA

You can get more info on dates and tickets here. Honestly, if I can swing it financially, I may go to one of the August dates. TBD.

Follow both Joy and The Bakehouse on Instagram. Make sure and watch Joy’s Stories. She’s great at them and she’s someone I tell clients to watch if they’re trying to get better at Stories.
