Be in the Picture

Be in the Picture

I have an essay in the Nashville Scene today! It’s my second published essay and I’m so thrilled. You can read it here. The essay is called Be in the Picture: On seeing myself for the first time in a long time. It’s about how my body looks different after eating disorder recovery and a two-year pandemic, and how I’m trying to put my new body in pictures more.

HUGE thanks to Erica Ciccarone at the Scene for editing this essay. I pitched the idea to Erica and she loved it, so I ran with it. Working with Erica as my editor was a dream. She is such a thoughtful, complimentary editor. She immediately understood what I was trying to do with this essay and helped me get there. Thanks to D. Patrick Rogers for trusting Erica to trust me.

Last, but certainly not least, thanks to Emily April Allen for coming to my house and taking these AMAZING pictures of me. I love them so much.
