Still loving my monthly

Birchbox

subscription.  Here are the products from my October box, as well as my reviews.

Dermablend Professional Quick Fix Illuminator | Full size, $25

Light-diffusing mineral concealer for a natural wide-awake look.

My Review:

I was initially excited to receive this because I'll always try a new concealer.  And then I opened it.  It's a pearly white concealer, not the usual skin color.  Humph.  I went ahead & tried it.  I'm still confused by this product.  The color is weird, the consistency is weird.  It didn't really conceal anything.  Maybe you can use it as a highlighter...  Maybe?  I gave it to my friend.  Christina, let me know if you like it.

P.S.

I've been using

this concealer

for about a year now & I really like it.  It doesn't last long, maybe 2-3 months, but it's $10 & I can buy it at Target.

dr. brandt light years away brightening eye cream | Full size, $90

Vitamin-packed anti-aging eye cream with marine-based illuminators to brighten dark circles.

My Review:

I love an eye cream!  I'm always happy to try new ones, especially if they're anti-aging.  I liked this one.  Unfortunately, the sample only lasted about 2-3 uses, so it wasn't enough to brighten anything, but I liked the way it felt.  $90 is a little steep for me, so I'll probably stick to my $18

dr. brandt microdermabrasion skin exfoliant | Full size, $78

Breakthrough at-home treatment for a glowing complexion - no pricey derm appointment required.

My Review:

Man, I love this stuff.  This is a longer blog post for another time, but a few months ago, my dermatologist put me on Retina.  This microdermabrasion exfoliant, plus the Retina, has given me the face of a baby.  $78 is going to be hard to swallow, but I'll probably buy this.

Note:

If you use this, make sure & read the directions & only use 1-2 times a week with 3 days of rest in between.  Trust.

Joie Folle de Joie | Full size, $98

A captivating scent with a modern blend of mandarin, rose, & sandalwood.

My Review:

 Nope.

Miss Jessie's Original Creme de la Creme Conditioner | Full size, $16

This detangling formula softens & nourishes stubborn curls & pin-straight locks alike.

My Review:

This actually works pretty well, but I can't get past the smell.  It's a weird scent, & it lingers throughout the day.  It has a medicinal, kind of a hand soap, smell.  It didn't work for me.  But if you like the smell, the product is great.
